Accommodation & access > Access to the campusHow to get to Vlerick Business School? The Business & Society Research Seminar will be held at the Vlerick Business School Campus, right in the city centre. Address: Reep 1, 9000 Ghent. The campus is housed in the Great Seminary, a historic building completed in 1914 that brings together elements of heritage and modernity. Before seminary students could use it, German troops turned it into a barracks. The first seminarist took up residence in 1926. In 2003, the building was given a new purpose as Vlerick campus. The stained glass windows and religious statues of the deconsecrated chapel share space with modern facilities needed to support a productive and engaging learning environment for the seminar. Located in the heart of Ghent’s historic city centre, the campus is surrounded by characteristic architecture, small shops, and a variety of restaurants. How to get there? The city of Ghent is easily accessible from Brussels, with direct trains departing every 15–20 minutes from Brussels-Midi, Belgium’s principal international railway station. Tickets for these trains can be purchased via the NMBS/SNCB website. Due to Belgium’s central location within Europe, we encourage Business & Society Research Seminar participants to consider train travel as a convenient and sustainable option. For those arriving by plane, direct train services are also available from Brussels Airport to Ghent, with a journey time of approximately one hour, providing a seamless connection to the city centre. Vlerick Business School is locatedapproximately a 30–35 minute walk from Ghent’s main railway station (Gent-Sint-Pieters). Alternatively, you can take a bus (55, 70, 76 or 77) or tram (T1 or T3), with tickets and schedules available on the De Lijn website. All conference-related events, including the conference dinner, will be held within walking distance of the venue. |
